Cason holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Child & Family Development and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Georgia. She received her Master’s as part of the Collaborative Personnel Preparation in Autism (COPPA) project. Shortly after this, Cason returned to UGA to complete her studies in Applied Behavior Analysis while working in the UGA behavior clinic. She became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in 2014. Cason has been a certified Special Education teacher since 2010. She first began working with individuals on the Spectrum while interning in Gwinnett County Public Schools during her undergraduate work. Prior to joining ABC full time in 2022, she worked for GCPS for 14 years and served in multiple roles. Cason initially worked as a paraprofessional and then as a special education teacher for elementary grade students with Autism. She then worked as a district- level Instructional Coach for grades K-12+ for Autism programs and as a Special Education Coordinator for the district. Cason is passionate about working on social skills, communication, helping families navigate the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, and working collaboratively with schools.
